President & CEO Update September 2020

On behalf of Hockey SA, we wanted to provide you with an update with regards to Hockey SA as we move towards the 2020 finals and 2020-2021 summer.  2020 has arguably been the most challenging year in Hockey South Australia’s, our Associations and Clubs and members lives.  Like all Sporting Associations across the country we needed to actively navigate our financial and operational position for the majority of the year.

Exciting New Changes to 2020 Super League

Hockey SA is excited to announce, the 2020 Super League. In its 3rd year, The High-Performance team originally started the initiative which has continued to evolve to maximise quality playing opportunities for high performing athletes, coaches and officials preparing for National Competitions.

Active Club Program Club Reboot Round Funding

Eligible sporting clubs and organisations can now apply for up to $3,000 for funding of programs and equipment through Round 49 of the Active Club Program (ACP): the 'Club Reboot Round'.

Congratulations Bob Claxton

Every sport relies heavily on individuals like Bob Claxton, passionate to contribute in any way and often on a voluntary basis. And now, with over 63 years of service, Bob has been recognised as a Life Member of Hockey Australia for his involvement in playing, coaching, administration and mentorship. His contribution to the sport is linked to many States, including Queensland, Northern Territory, Western Australia and South Australia.

Resignation - Max Bail

On behalf of the Hockey SA Board & Management I am writing to advise that Max Bail has tendered his resignation as Competition & Facility Manager at Hockey SA.

FIRE ACADEMY LAUNCH

Hockey SA High-Performance Department are pleased to announce the release of its new player pathway - The Fire Academy.

Six added to Hockey Australia Life Member list

Sue Briggs OAM, Bob Claxton, Lyn Hill, Carol Sheridan, Robert Taylor and Colin Wansbrough were announced as the newest Life Members at the HA Annual General Meeting, which was held Friday 29 May via online video conference due to COVID-19.

Hockey SA Update - 15 May

Hockey SA have resolved reductions to the 2020 Registration Fees for all participants and furthermore have confirmed Team Entry Fees reductions for clubs entering teams into the 2020 Adelaide competition season.

Dear South Australian Hockey Community, On behalf of the Hockey SA Board & Management I wanted to take the time to provide all Players, Coaches, Umpires, Officials, Parents & supporters with an update in relation to South Australian Hockey. Firstly, I wanted to address some recent rumors, statements and messages which have been made by an unauthorised source with regards to Hockey SA, and their financial status.

Hockey SA COVID-19 Update

Hockey SA has been working closely with Hockey Australia, the SA Office of Sport and Recreation, other government agencies as well as comparable State Sporting Organisations to ensure an appropriate response by the sport and recreation sector.
