Two-time English Olympian, Shona McCallin, joins the Adelaide Fire.

The Adelaide Fire are excited to announce our first key player signing, for Season 4 of the Hockey One League.
Joining the Adelaide Fire is English International, SHONA McCALLIN MBE. A power midfielder with 122 international caps for England and Great Britain. Shona is a two-time Olympian. She was selected for the Rio 2016 Olympic squad and helped them to win the gold medal. Shona was also selected for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, taking home a bronze medal. Shona made her 50th international appearance at the Rio Olympics, and her 100th international appearance at the Tokyo Olympics. Shona was part of the England team that won their first ever Commonwealth gold medal in Birmingham in 2022, adding to her European and Olympic titles.
Shona made her England U16 debut at the age of 15, then played for England U16 and U18 teams before leading England and Great Britain U21’s to a Junior World Cup and Youth Olympic Games. Shona’s accolades also include a gold medal in 2015 and bronze in 2017, at the European Championships. Shona received a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) in 2017, presented to her by Prince Charles (now King Charles), rewarded for her efforts as part of the Great Britain gold medal winning team at the Rio Olympics.
Shona will join the Adelaide Fire women’s team, bringing a wealth of international experience and a significant presence to the midfield.
