Hockey SA Staffing Update – 16 February 2021

Hockey SA is pleased to announce the appointment of Dan Mitchell to the role of Athlete & Coach Development Manager.  Dan joins us with extensive coaching experience and a strong understanding of players and coaches in SA.  Dan is excited to accept the role and is looking forward to developing and growing our sport.

We would like to thank Hugh Purvis for his time at Hockey SA and wish him all the best as he moves into the role of Head Hockey Coach with SASI.  Hugh will continue to work closely with Dan and Hockey SA on our overall program so won’t be lost to our strong ambition to improve our performance at National Championships and produce more Nationally categorised athletes. 

Internal Appointments/Promotions

Congratulations to Jarrad Hoskin who has been promoted to the role of Competition & Facilities Manager, Jarrad has been working as the Membership & Administration Coordinator since November 2020, this exciting opportunity has now opened up to Jarrad who has shown interest in this role since 2019.  Jarrad will be mentored by David Bourke – HV Head of Competitions throughout 2021. 

Matt Becroft, current member of our grounds team has been appointed to the role of Membership & Administration Coordinator, Matt has worked with Hockey SA for many years and has recently completed his University studies, we are very pleased to give Matt this opportunity to start his career in the sporting industry.  Matt will work on a 0.6 basis commencing on Monday 22 February.
