Facility upgrades commence

Today, work officially commenced on the pitch upgrade at Mate Stadium (State Hockey Centre) in Gepps Cross. The Hon Corey Wingard MP, Minister for Recreation, Sport and Racing, came down to inspect the progress. Along with upgrading the lighting towers and replacing grandstand seating, the pitch upgrade is part of the recently announced $1.5 million facility upgrade.
Hockey SA is working with global leader in sports facility design and construction, Polytan. Hockey SA Board Director, Derek James and the on-site team from Polytan, took time out this morning to give Minister Wingard an insight into the progress on the new Polytan Platinum GT surface, which will be the first of its kind in the southern hemisphere.
