Dutch champion, Margot van Geffen, joins the Adelaide Fire.

The Adelaide Fire are beyond excited to welcome three-time Olympian and Dutch champion, MARGOT van GEFFEN

Margot became a member of the Dutch National Team in 2011. With 265 international caps, Margot is number three in the Dutch all-time rankings for international matches played. 

Margot’s extraordinary list of accolades include three-time Olympian with gold medals in London 2012 and Tokyo 2020, plus a silver medal in Rio 2016. Three-time World Cup gold medallist (2014, 2018 and 2022). Five-time European Champions (2011, 2017, 2019, 2021 and 2023) plus silver medal in 2015 and bronze in 2013. Champions Trophy gold medal in 2018, plus bronze medals in 2012 and 2014. 

Margot was invested as a Knight of the Order of Orange-Nassau, after the 2012 Olympics. She is also recognised as a Member of Merit of the Dutch Hockey Federation in 2021. 

A true champion to join the Adelaide Fire Women this season, and a big challenge for any opposition coming up against Margot this season. Let’s just say, we’re so glad Margot’s on our side…!
