Adelaide to host the Hockey Australia Under 16 Championships.

Hockey SA is pleased to announce the 2025 Hockey Australia Under 16 Championships will be held in Adelaide, from 31st March to 7th April.

MATE Stadium and Port Adelaide District Hockey Club will host matches for the opening day of competition, with all finals being played at MATE Stadium.

The last time Hockey Australia National Championship were hosted in SA were the Men’s Masters in Adelaide in 2016, the Country Championships in Berri in 2018, and well over a decade since a junior championship was hosted in our state. This is a great appointment for South Australia to again showcase our beautiful state for a national event.

“I am thrilled to welcome the 2025 Hockey Australia Under 16 National Championships to Adelaide. It's an incredible opportunity to showcase our state's passion for hockey, provide a platform for rising stars, and celebrate the spirit of competition. We look forward to hosting athletes, coaches and families from across the country and delivering a memorable experience both on and off the field” – Geoff Riddle, CEO, Hockey SA.

With an expected 24 teams and 384 athletes descending on Adelaide for these championships, it brings an exceptional tourism boost for our state, and an opportunity for athletes and their families to stay on after the tournament and explore our state further.

We thank the City of Port Adelaide Enfield Council and the Port Adelaide District Hockey Club for supporting Hockey SA in bringing this national championship to Adelaide, and showcasing two of Adelaide’s best hockey venues, in MATE Stadium and Port Adelaide District Hockey Club.
