ADELAIDE FIRE 2024 COACH ANNOUNCEMENTS


The Adelaide Fire are pleased to announce the appointment of our Head Coaches, for Season 4 of the Hockey One League.
 
JETHRO EUSTICE –
Originating from South Africa, highly experienced defender Jethro Eustice, comes into the role of Adelaide Fire Men’s Playing Head Coach for 2024.

Joining the Adelaide Fire men in 2023, Jethro’s extensive international experience added great depth and a cool head to the Fire’s defence, playing an integral role to the team’s success last season. His role will now see him bring together his playing and coaching experience, in a playing coach capacity. 

Jethro has represented the South African Men’s National Team with 171 international caps and 21 international goals. He adds an additional 53 international caps and 41 international goals, as well as the Captaincy, for the South African Men’s International Indoor Hockey Team.

Jethro’s international career has also included representing South Africa at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and 2018 Games in the Gold Coast. His accolades include gold medals at the Africa Cup of Nations in 2013, 2017 and 2022 plus gold medals at the Indoor Africa Cup in 2017 and 2021.

Since arriving in South Australia late last year, Jethro has led the SA State Under 21 Men’s Team whilst working as the Hockey Pathway Lead for Hockey SA. Jethro is also making an impact in the Belgravia Sports Apparel Premier League Men’s competition, playing for Burnside Hockey Club.
 
 
MARK VICTORY –
A familiar face to the Adelaide Fire and hockey in South Australia, makes a return in 2024. Mark Victory will lead the Adelaide Fire Women’s Team as Head Coach for Season 4 of the Hockey One League.

Mark led the Adelaide Fire Men’s Team as their Head Coach, for the inaugural Hockey One Season in 2019.

No stranger to the national coaching ranks, Mark was part of the SA Suns Women’s Team during the Australian Hockey League (AHL) era, as Assistant Coach in 2010 and again in 2011 when the SA Suns were National Champions that year. He returned to the AHL from 2014 – 2017 as Co-Coach of the SA Hotshots Men’s Team, and Assistant Coach to the Hotshots in 2018, before taking on the Adelaide Fire Men’s Head Coaching role in 2019.

As Head Coach for the Port Adelaide District Hockey Club’s Premier League Men’s team from 2009 to 2023, including three Premierships (2012, 2018 & 2022), Mark brings his wealth of coaching knowledge and extensive experience back to the Adelaide Fire to lead our Women’s Team.
 
 
Jethro, Mark and the High Performance team have been working tirelessly in preparation for the 2024 Hockey One season.
