The Hockey SA Awards are presented annually. The Hockey SA Awards recognise the achievements of players, teams, umpires, officials and volunteers who have displayed outstanding achievements and contributed to the success of hockey in South Australia, over the 12 months leading into the awards.

 

The Premier League Women's Best & Fairest Awards, is awarded to the women's player in the Premier League who is deemed the best and most fairest across the most recent playing season.

Votes are cast each week, following each premier league match, by the umpires.

In 2022, the award was renamed in honour of former South Australian and Olympic Champion, the late Sandy Pisani OAM. As of 2022, the award is known as the Sandy Pisani OAM Medal for the Premier League Women's Best & Fairest.

The Coach of the Year Award is an individual who reflects the standards of the Hockey Ed Coaching Certification Program and demonstrates a respect for officials, opponents, parents and embracing a philosophy of fair play. They have a genuine concern for all-round development of the athlete; presenting a positive public image of hockey and a proven capacity to improve the team's or athlete's performance.

The Club of the Year Award acknowledges a metropolitan or regional club that has excelled over a twelve-month period by encouraging more people to take part in hockey, setting standards to which other clubs aspire and demonstrating a proven track record in working with schools, local authorities and other community organisations. 

Other key criteria for winning this award include proven increases in playing and officiating numbers, improved services to members and achieving high standards of good practice, safety and governance.

The prestigious Japan Cup is an award presented to the most successful club in the Premier League Competition. Primarily a club’s success is measured on points and premierships, however this trophy is a true reflection of a club’s dedication to hockey combined with their success throughout the year. 

The total number of team registrations, number of club players selected in State Teams, the efficiency of general team administration and premiership points all come into play when calculating points for each club.
